What if you had the money to get a:
- new STEM lab?
- new student club?
- new instruments?
- special class or training?
The Innovation Fund may just be the ticket to your wildest education dream!
The
Jeffco Innovation Fund invests in innovation and ideas to
improve the learning experiences and outcomes for students. The fund seeks to back innovative ideas that transform student learning experiences and meet the learning needs of students.

New for 2019 - 20:
+ Not just for staff any more! Now students in all grades can submit ideas they believe will
enhance their learning
+ streamlined application - quickly submit your amazing idea
Big, Medium, and Small Categories
Round 1 applicants:
Estimate the resource needs (how much will this cost?) for their idea as
- Big ( greater than $50K)
- Medium ($5K -$50K)
- Small (less than $5K)
Ideas from each category compete for resources (how much money it will take).
"Small" requests are eligible for one year of funding only.
Articulation Area Structure
Each applicant will submit their ideas by
articulation area
Get Out the Vote
When all ideas are submitted on November 8th, the top ideas from each
articulation area in each category (Big, Medium, and Small) will advance to the Design Round.
Design Round
The best ideas from each
articulation area will participate in a design process to further develop ideas and specify resource requests.
After the design process, top ideas will resubmit their revised ideas for a final vote. Students with top ideas will participate in the Design Round
with a staff sponsor.
What Makes a Good Idea?
+ Ideas must be aligned with priorities identified in the
Strategic Plan
+ Ideas should articulate clear connection to how the idea will positively
impact authentic student learning experiences
+ Ideas must be sustainable without Innovation Funds after a maximum of three years
What's on the Application?
- Describe your idea and the impact on student experiences
- Describe who you will partner with at your site and/or in the community to implement your idea
- How many students/teachers/leaders will your idea impact?
Each question has a 2500 character (about 400 words) limit.
