Hello Jeffco Community,

Hard to believe we are nearing the end of the school year!

First, my congratulations to all our graduates and their families. My sincere hope is Jeffco Public Schools has prepared you for your future, and shown you the many opportunities that lie ahead. We wish you all the best.

Second, my sincere thanks to Jeffco students, staff, families, and the community for the warm welcome and enthusiasm for new ideas this school year.  With Jeffco Generations as the vision, and our strategic plan as the map to success, we are off and running to deliver many engaging learning opportunities for our children that will prepare them for today and tomorrow's world.

Third, a challenge to all - learn the facts and then share your thoughts on school funding issues.  K-12 public school funding in our state is far below the national average.  I think our kids deserve safe, modern schools; dedicated, professional educators; and access to educational supports like social emotional services, specialized learning opportunities, and technology.  To ensure our kids have the resources they need we need to dedicate more public funds.  Please take some time to review the facts:

I look forward to hearing from the community on whether we should ask voters for school funding in November. The Advance Jeffco blog and Jeffco Generations Facebook page (links below) have active discussions happening now and I invite you to participate.

Let's finish this school year strong!
