The following list of enrichment opportunities is for informational purposes only, and may be of interest to gifted learners. Jeffco Schools does not necessarily endorse the opportunities or resources listed below.

  • Camp Invention- Turn students into inventors with the National Inventors Hall of Fame's Innovation Ecosystem.  The Innovation Ecosystem was created in 1990 when we launched our nationally acclaimed flagship program, Camp Invention.  
  • Center for Bright Kids offers summer programs and additional opportunities for gifted students throughout the school year. They also operate the Western Academic Talent Search (WATS), in which participants take the SAT, ACT or PSAT 8/9 examinations above their grade levels to evaluate their strengths, to gain experience, and to qualify for recognition and special programmings.  Families needing verification of GT eligibility, contact [email protected].  They also offer CBK Summer Programs for high-interest high-ability students.

  • CSM Spring Break Camp - 3rd - 5th grade - The Academies for Young Minds encourage children to be innovative and use creative problem-solving by engaging them in fun, hands-on activities. 
  • CU Science Discovery Programs-Discover our Programs, Inspire curious minds, Learn about us, Explore online resources, Connect with us, Search our classes.
  • Destination Imagination prepares Colorado's kids to be the innovators of the future by combining the arts, sciences, and technologies with creativity, teamwork and problem solving.
  • Engineering with Young Learners-Engineering opportunities for preschoolers and kindergartners through the Museum of Science.
  • GT Legislative Day at the Capitol allows students, families and educators to advocate for gifted education and experience the legislative process in action at our State Capitol. Secondary students can shadow a legislator, and there are events for families as well. 
  • JAGC - Jefferson County Association for Gifted Children has an extensive list of summer programs.  Click here for more information.
  • Math Madness - Math Madness is an online, team-based event that takes place during the fall in which elementary, middle and high schools from across the country compete in leagues of weekly competition followed by a single elimination bracket tournament.
  • Metro University summer programs for 6th, 7th, 8th graders and also incoming 10th. 11th and 12th grades. 
  • Princeton Summer Journalism Program - Students have the opportunity to learn from celebrated journalists. 
  • Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers - Noche de Ciencias is a great way to get students and parents involved with STEM. Undergraduate and Professional SHPE chapters have the opportunity to invite K-12 students to participate in hands-on STEM activities while interacting with STEM undergraduate students and professionals. Parents are provided with college resources that help encourage their child(ren) to pursue higher education and STEM careers.
  • Sources of Strength Poetry Contest - We invite Jeffco students to help shed light and give your unique perspective on the year 2020 in the Sources of Strength Poetry Contest & Strengths Slam Event. We all go through good times and tough times. As a district Sources of Strength community, our goal is to focus on stories of strength, rather than stories of trauma. Let’s focus on the silver linings of this year together, while apart, and highlight hope, help and strength. We want to discover what has helped you connect, cope or remain calm.
  • UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital Summer Teen Volunteer Program. 
  • UNC Summer Enrichment Programs:  summer enrichment offered by the University of Northern Colorado - Greeley. Click here for more information.
  • Women in Transportation Seminar for Girls -  Calling ALL High School girls. Scholarship opportunity!  Girls interested in STEM careers within the transportation field.
  • Yunasa Summer camps offered by the Institute for Education Advancement, including one in Colorado.
