Warren Tech, Jeffco Public Schools’ designated Career and Technical Education (CTE) school, officially broke ground on its third campus on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Warren Tech South is located in the south region of the district on the Dakota Ridge High School property in Littleton. It is scheduled to open August 2021 and adds Audio & Music Production, Aviation Technology, Live Sound & Event Production, Physical Therapy, Resort & Event Management, and Video Production to Warren Tech’s offering of programs. Aircraft Maintenance Technology is scheduled to open in August 2022.

"The south Jeffco area has been waiting for this for a long time,” said Eric Stout, Associate Principal for Warren Tech South. “This is the first step in not only bringing more options to high school students in the south area, but also, and more importantly, to increasing the options for all Jeffco high school students through more CTE program opportunities.”

This exciting new project was made possible by a generous bond approved by Jeffco voters in 2018. Warren Tech South will be open to 11th- and 12th-grade students in Jeffco Public Schools, as well as to students in Clear Creek, Gilpin, and Platte Canyon School Districts.

“This third campus would not be possible without the passing of the bond in 2018. Warren Tech is grateful for the continued support of our Jeffco community, our school district, and our industry partners. The opening of Warren Tech South enables us to serve even more Jeffco students and do what we do best:  equip them with the skills needed for both college and career. We couldn’t be more excited,” said Heather Keeton, Principal of Warren Tech.

Warren Tech South programming is brand new, with the exception of Audio & Music Production and Video Production, which will relocate to the south campus from the central and north locations. In addition to high school credit, students will also have the opportunity to earn college credit and industry certifications in many of the programs. This new location will also allow Warren Tech students to take advantage of industry partnerships in the south region of the county.

“Because it is our mission to prepare students for a successful future, and our focus is on hands-on and experiential learning, it is thrilling to expand our career and technical education offerings to the south area. Our students make us so proud every day. To bring real-world programs like these to the Jeffco community to nurture our students' interests, engagement, and growth, I have no doubt we will continue to see great things from them,” said Interim Superintendent Kristopher Schuh.

The new building will include an airplane hangar for the school’s two aviation programs, as well as a state-of-the-art theater that will serve as both a classroom and a venue for student-run productions. The theater will allow students in the Audio & Music Production, Video Production, and Live Sound & Event Production to collaborate in real-world experiences.

Ron Gordon, Warren Tech North’s Audio & Music Production program creator and instructor for the past 11 years, has been hard at work developing the new Live Sound & Event Production program he will bring to Warren Tech South in August 2021. “This program is all about learning by doing: Real-world gear, a state-of-the-art facility, and instruction from an industry pro. Is this exciting or what?” said Gordon.
