Transition Timeline

When will the 6th graders move to each middle school?

6th grade students are currently at middle schools in the following articulation areas:
  • Chatfield (Deer Creek MS, Falcon Bluffs MS)
  • Conifer (West Jefferson MS)
  • Evergreen (Evergreen MS)

K-6 / 7-12 configurations are currently in the following articulation areas:
  • Alameda
  • Jefferson

The following articulation areas are transitioning 6th grade students to middle schools 2018 - 2019 school year:
  • Arvada (Arvada K-8, North Arvada MS)
  • Arvada West (Drake MS)
  • Bear Creek (Carmody MS)
  • Golden (Bell MS)
  • Green Mountain (Dunstan MS)
  • Pomona (Moore MS)
  • Ralston Valley (Oberon MS)
  • Standley Lake (Mandalay MS, Wayne Carle MS)
  • Wheat Ridge (Everitt MS)

One option school, Manning, will transition to 6 - 8 beginning with the 2018 - 19 school year.

The following articulation areas will transition 6th grade students to middle schools 2019-2020:
  • Columbine (Ken Caryl MS)
  • Dakota Ridge (Summit Ridge MS)
  • Lakewood (Creighton MS will have GT 6th grade students 2018-2019)

D’Evelyn Jr./Sr. High option school will be accepting 90 sixth grade students beginning the 2020-2021 school year. Sixth grade students will be selected per the district’s choice enrollment policy. D’Evelyn Jr./Sr. High option school will give priority to Dennison Elementary 5th and 6th grade students beginning the 2023-2024 school year and beyond at which point Dennison Elementary will become a K-5 elementary school. Remaining spaces will be filled per the district’s choice enrollment policy.
