Family & Community Engagement

In some of our schools, engagement is already strong, where parents and the community come together in support of learning - relationships are strong and positive. In other areas of our district, schools struggle with parent engagement, both in terms of rallying the community to support school needs but also in making parents full partners in their child’s education.

There is an art and science to creating real, meaningful, and genuine parent and community engagement. We must change our school practices to involve parents in decision-making and bring our community into our schools as partners.

Theory of Action

IF Jeffco Public Schools implement best practices (National Famiily Engagement Standards) to engage families THEN families will participate as partners to support student learning.

  • By 2023 at least 90% of families will agree or strongly agree on items aligned with the National Family Engagement Standard on the Family School Partnership (FSP) survey.
