Bear Creek HS Theatre CompanyBear Creek High School Theatre Company has had several nationally-recognized events through the efforts of the Tony Award Winning musical, Dear Evan Hansen. Last May, students from the company performed at the IPW conference where 5,000 delegates saw BC Theatre perform "You Will Be Found" with the lead of Dear Evan Hansen. They performed alongside the companies of Come From Away, Wicked, Phantom of the Opera, and Escape to Margaritaville. After the performance, students were then filmed for the National Touring Company's promotional video. This was seen by 185K viewers on Youtube, Facebook, etc.

Rocky Mountain PBS caught wind of the story and interviewed the company for a segment airing this Thursday, October 18 at 7:00 p.m. Not only did PBS catch wind of our experience, but Microsoft also reached out and asked to enter BC Theatre into a contest to win 100 tickets to see Dear Evan Hansen. The submission was about how theatre impacts the community and how the BC Theatre program unites humanity. We won (!) and 60 Bear Creek students got tickets; the other 40 were donated to surrounding schools (20 to Carmody Middle School, 10 to Lakewood High School, and 10 to Green Mountain High School) to show unity in Jeffco theatre. All of these experiences rippled from our love of Dear Evan Hansen and the messages the show provides on a deeper level.
