Jeffco Students Honored at State Thespian Conference

Jeffco theater studentsOver 6,000 young actors, designers, playwrights, and technicians converged on the Colorado Convention Center the first weekend in December to participate in the 54th Annual Colorado State Thespian Conference, or ThesCon, as it’s nicknamed. The conference is the third largest of its kind in the country, providing performance events, workshops, and university auditions to thousands of students from all over Colorado. This year, Jeffco schools were honored in a number of ways:

  • Green Mountain High School, Lakewood High School, and Pomona High School received Gold Level Honor Troupe status
  • Chatfield High School was crowned Improv Champions of the 2018 conference
  • Evergreen High School senior named CO Thespians Musical Theatre Scholarship Winner
  • Lakewood High School senior named CO Thespians Tech Design Scholarship Runner-Up
  • Pomona High School selected as Critic Choice Chapter Select One Act to perform at Nationals
  • Lakewood High School winner of Best Cinematography for the ThesCon Film Festival
  • 136 Jeffco Students from high schools across the district qualified for Nationals with their Individual Performance and Design Events
