COVID-19 UPDATE

Work Based Learning
Students who are participating in an internship or apprenticeship as part of receiving school credit will be allowed to report to their employer as long as:

1. The employer remains open and does not have any concerns regarding the virus, and
2. Parent/guardian has approved continuing with the internship or apprenticeship.

We also recognize that students participating in internships or apprenticeships will in many instances not be able to complete their hours in order to earn credit. For this reason, high school principals will need to waive any additional hours for students to earn their scheduled credit for the spring semester of 2020. Students who are scheduled into internships or apprenticeships and who are unable to complete their hours at their place of employment should receive credit for this semester. Teachers seeking additional support for career-connected learning can contact their Jeffco Career Links specialist to learn about online career resources that may be helpful to students.
