Junior Achievement’s purpose is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. To accomplish this, JA provides in-school and off-site experiential programs to students from kindergarten through twelfth grade, delivered by corporate and community volunteers, who provide a real-world perspective in the areas of career readiness, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship. There is no cost for schools to implement JA programming. Below are examples of three new programs being offered!

Colorado Business Hall of Fame Summit (Middle and High School students) – February 9, 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.

An exclusive opportunity for teens to hear from both established and GenZ entrepreneurs about their journeys. Conducted via Zoom and emceed by Denver7’s Brian Sanders, the Summit panel includes two Colorado Business Hall of Fame past inductees: Jim Johnson (GE Johnson Construction Company) and Larry Kendall (The Group, Inc. and the Ninja Selling System), as well as two GenZ entrepreneurs from Colorado. Teens who register (or teachers registering on behalf of their students) will be invited to submit questions that panelists will answer during the Summit! For more information or to register, please visit www.jacolorado.org/e-summit.

JA Stock Market Challenge (High School)– Brand new interactive simulation now available!

A brand new, highly interactive game-based app provides students with an experience similar to real-life stock market trading apps. Now students can research and invest in real-world brands they are familiar with, while stock performance directly mirrors the real-world market. Starting with $25,000 in virtual funds, students can compete with their classmates to build the largest portfolio. A leaderboard built into the app helps fuel this friendly competition. You can find more information about this new simulation here.

JA Job Shadows (Middle and High School)

While in-person job shadows are not possible right now, JA is now offering virtual job shadows, giving students the opportunity to explore the career of their choice via pre-recorded videos. With a variety of industries and companies to choose from, students will hear from company employees themselves, following them on company site tours, learning about roles within the companies, gaining career advice, and more. Learn more about our Job Shadow opportunities here.
