School Health Services - Medicaid
Jeffco Schools requests partial reimbursement for the health and health-related services for students with Health First Colorado (Medicaid) who have an IEP or other plan of care while at school. This reimbursement derives from the services of Jeffco district nurses, speech language pathologists, mental health providers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, orientation/mobility specialists as well as para-educators and Health Aides who provide personal care and delegated nursing services to these students. All service providers are required to be properly credentialed per CMS (Medicaid).
To claim reimbursement from Medicaid, a parent signed and dated “Consent to Access Benefits” form must be on file in the Medicaid office. This is a form that is usually signed at your child’s IEP meeting or in the Infinite Campus Online Registration system during registration. It is a one-time form, meaning you need only sign it once for the entirety of your child’s years in Jeffco. Should you unenroll in Jeffco and then return at a later date, you will need to resign the form. Your permission to Jeffco to access your child’s Medicaid benefits in no way impacts the services you receive through Medicaid outside of school. Please read the brochure from CDE below for more information:

These services can include additional nursing services, equipment for schools, nutrition education programs, additional mental health support, medical professional development and training, as well as basic health room supplies.
