On Wednesday, November 20th, Jeffco Career and Technical Education (CTE) hosted the Fall 2019 CTE Advisory Committee Meeting. More than 100 partners from industry and education came together to collaborate on prioritizing strategies for building high quality CTE programming. Attendees also were able to hear from students participating in Arvada-West HOSA and Golden ProStart programs regarding the impact Career and Technical Education programs have had on their future career plans. Another highlight of the evening was enjoying culinary creations from Golden ProStart during breakout sessions with STEM, Skilled Trades, Business, Hospitality, Human Services and Education. Additional opportunities for industry to partner with Jeffco Public Schools students include the need for 400 job shadow hosts, 1,000 capstone mentors, and volunteers for mock interviews, career panels and judges for student competitions.
