Arvada High School new third-floor classrooms

For many of our schools, renovations and additions mean more classrooms and learning spaces. Over at Arvada High School things are looking a little different on the third-floor of their building.

As a part of a multi-phase renovation plan, the third-floor at Arvada has undergone an incredible transformation. For the school’s Design Advisory Community (DAG), the renovation of these classrooms was a top priority. And it wasn’t just about classroom numbers. For their teachers and students, combining these small rooms to create larger and more flexible spaces meant the spaces could be used more efficiently for lessons and planning.

The new rooms on the Arvada third-floor are bright and welcoming, while meeting the needs of students and staff. Bigger classrooms now allow for breakouts, easy technology adaption, and lesson planning.

This first phase of construction started in the summer of 2019 and finished up before students came back to start the winter 2020 semester. Additional building renovations and a new auxiliary gym will begin this January as a part of phase two.

These are just a few images of the newly renovated third-floor rooms at Arvada. H.S. In addition to the building changes, new furniture arrived for these spaces - giving teachers and students all the tools to use these rooms for their specific needs.
