New Year, New Opportunities

New Year, New Opportunities

Today’s high school experience can produce not just diplomas but Federal Aviation Administration aircraft maintenance certifications.

Jeffco Public Schools students are returning to schools, with some featuring new and improved facilities that make new educational opportunities possible.

At Warren Tech South, the newest of Jeffco’s three Designated Career and Technical Schools, the preparations included finishing the floors. The school building was completed in 2021 thanks to Jeffco Builds bond money, and the facility was built specifically for its unique programs.

This year’s students will be the first to use the school’s airplane hangar — and disassembled airplane — to earn FAA certification through its aviation maintenance technology program. The hangar, the shop plane, and the white gleaming floors were all added to the school to earn an FAA certification.

Students who graduate from the two-year aviation or aviation maintenance program at Warren Tech could leave with the credentials to start working right away in this in-demand field. Warren Tech is just one example of how Jeffco Builds’ bonds are an investment into Jeffco students’ futures.

At Warren Tech, students can get hands-on experience — and earn college credit — in its seven programs: aircraft maintenance technology, audio and music production, aviation technology, live sound and event production, physical therapy, resort and event management, and video production.
