Bryan Wickoren named 2019 Adapted P.E. Teacher of the Year
The Central District Society of Health And Physical Educators (SHAPE) has honored Bryan Wickoren as their 2019 Adapted P.E. Teacher of the Year. This competitive award recognizes one individual from nine states for their outstanding achievement and professionalism in the field of health or physical education. On any given day, you will find Bryan in any number of our schools providing opportunities for our differently-abled students to engage in fun and meaningful physical activity. Bryan is a highly-regarded leader in adapted P.E. across the state of Colorado and is credited as having started the wildly popular adapted athletics program. This program provides monthly opportunities for students to engage in friendly athletic competitions with other differently abled students from schools across Jeffco and Colorado. Bryan will receive his award at the Central Regional SHAPE conference in Sioux Falls next fall and be eligible for national recognition in late April in Tampa, Florida.
