The Performance Evaluation Committee has worked over the course of the last two years to build more opportunities for self-reflection, goal setting, and self-directed professional learning into the current evaluation process.
The desired outcome of this work is to create an evaluation system that supports the concept that genuine and honest communication and feedback from diverse sources creates a safe space for growth. The committee believes a system that pushes educator practice will recognize and reward strategic risk taking, build in iteration, and honor that an educator’s learning process will involve successes and lessons learned.
The goal moving forward is to create a space for educators at all schools to have the option to choose the traditional self-assessment or the pilot self-reflection tool that focuses on self-directed goal setting and professional learning.
