Congratulations to Jefferson Academy Secondary Principal Heather Grantham, who was selected as a 2018 University of Colorado Boulder's Outstanding Colorado Educator Award.
The Outstanding Colorado Educator Award is presented to educators across the state of Colorado who
have demonstrated a commitment to helping students achieve their higher education goals.
During the nomination process, each nominator was asked to include a brief statement on how the nominee helps students achieve their higher education goals. Marybeth Mellott wrote:
"Heather has created a culture at Jefferson Academy in which all students are encouraged and directed into post-secondary options that are suited to their individual needs and desires. Heather expects the JAHS teachers to teach at a very high level and have high expectations of their students. Year after year, our students meet those expectations and are successful beyond high school. She also allows counselors and administrative staff to direct their time and energy towards the students' individual goals for post-secondary options. She is a true leader and the JAHS students are successful because of her.
