Interim Superintendent Kristopher SchuhThe Board of Education met this morning for a Special Meeting-Study/Dialogue Session to discuss the appointment of an interim superintendent and get an update on the Restart Plan.

This morning, the Board voted to appoint current Deputy Superintendent/Chief of Schools Kristopher Schuh as interim superintendent. The Board intends to conduct a nationwide search beginning this fall for the next superintendent for Jeffco Public Schools. Board President Susan Harmon shared, "We are pleased to appoint Mr. Schuh as our interim superintendent as he brings many years of service to Jeffco, and will provide consistency through this time of transition."

Mr. Schuh has been an educator for 28 years, with 20 in Jeffco. He attended universities in Minnesota, Spain, and Colorado and earned degrees in U.S History, Spanish, Educational Counseling, and a licensure in Educational Administration. He began his professional career in Wisconsin as a middle school teacher and moved to Colorado to teach and coach at J.K. Mullen High School. During his 20 years in Jeffco, he has worked as a baseball and football coach at Pomona High School, school counselor at Moore and Wayne Carle Middle Schools, induction coordinator, assistant principal at Wayne Carle Middle, principal at Evergreen Middle, and community superintendent. His wife is an elementary teacher in Jeffco and their daughters attend Jeffco neighborhood schools.
