Governor Polis Visits New Campbell Early Learning Center
Posted on 08/18/2023

On Wednesday, August 17, Governor Polis joined Superintendent Dorland for a visit to Campbell Early Learning Center; celebrating the first week of school and the state's new Universal Preschool Program.

Through the Universal Preschool Program, Jeffco now provides preschool services to over 2,200 students, which is an increase of more than 700 students compared to last year.

Campbell Early Learning Center had its grand opening on August 14 and is located in the former Campbell Elementary School campus that was closed at the end of the 2022-23 school year.

Campbell offers full and half-day programs and features ten early childhood classrooms, including two classrooms uniquely prepared to educate students with autism ages 3-5 years old.

The robust programming follows best practices in early education to focus on engaging the district’s youngest learners. Campbell also maintains supportive partnerships with both Child Find and Jeffco’s district hearing center.
