Jeffco Boundary Study Update

Jeffco is Proud to Serve 91% of Children in the County

In recent years, there has been a significant focus on Jeffco’s declining enrollment, which is something that also impacts our funding. However, the district has learned through the boundary study, 91% of children who live in Jefferson County attend a Jeffco school. The more than 8,800 people who responded to a survey about student enrollment last fall are helping the district understand how our families choose schools for their children.

You can see the enrollment survey presentation to the Board and a comprehensive report here. The next step of this work is to ask more questions through a series of focus groups to gain an understanding of, for example, what matters to families at transition points (grades Kindergarten, 6 and 9) or what students and their families value about specific programs. The Board will receive a final presentation on the district’s boundary study in June.

Serving 91% of children who live in Jefferson County in a Jeffco school is something the district is incredibly proud of. Through the enrollment survey, many community members took the time to share with the district the extraordinary experiences your children are having in our schools. Your feedback reflects the district’s goals for a thriving district where all students achieve their biggest dreams.
