Parents and families of gifted students in the Arvada High School (AHS) articulation area (Arvada K-8, Foster PK-8, Hackberry Hill Elementary, Lawrence Elementary, North Arvada Middle, Peck Elementary, Secrest Elementary, Swanson Elementary, Thomson Elementary), we want to build community! You are invited to join our monthly, in-person social and study gathering. We plan to meet on the 2nd Monday of each month at AHS for an opportunity to learn about your GT child(ren) while socializing with others in our community. The agenda for the year is subject to change based on your feedback about your needs. As a starting point, these are the proposed meeting dates and topics:
In Person: Dates: (second Monday of each month)
9/12 The OTHER Characteristics of Gifted Kids
10/10 Self-Advocacy Specific to YOUR Learner
11/14 Strengths-based Studenting and Parenting
12/12 Strengths and Challenges in Executive Skills
1/9 Understanding and Unlocking Motivation
2/13 Brain Science and Emotional Regulation
