The Jeffco Writing Challenge is open to all Jefferson County School students in K-12.  Poetry, short stories, non-fiction, or dramas are all welcome. Click here to view flyer.

Deadline for submissions is February 24, 2023.

 

Please, no paired grades submitted together. 

 Each writer must do their own work!

Any Grade may choose either prompt
Prompt A:  If you could give someone a gift that would positively change the world, what would the gift be?

 

Prompt B:  When you wish upon a Star, what do you wish for?

To submit your entry, fill out the Entry Form/Permission Slip at:

Teachers: Encourage Your Students to Tell Everyone Why They Love to Read!

Writing & Art Criteria

Please have your students complete the following statement:

“I love to read___________” and then create an illustration to go along with their statement. Have students create the illustration on a normal 8 X 11 sheet of paper with only one statement that explains why they love to read. Click here to view flyer

All grade levels can participate in this contest. Teachers, please choose 5 students from your class that you believe have shown you their passion for why they love to read with the above criteria. Your school may select a committee to review the five entries from each grade and select a winning page for each grade.

Winners will receive $100 for First Place and a Gift Card for Second, Third, or Honorable Mention! The winning school will receive an ENC donation.
