In-Person High School Programs for Adults: Daytime and Evening Options 

Diploma Program

The purpose: To help adults of all ages (18 and over) to earn a diploma, while developing self-confidence, honing academic and workplace skills, and preparing for careers/college. Our classes are taught in person. Our experienced educators teach Jeffco high school curriculum in English, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Elective credits can be earned for work experience.

McLain’s Day Diploma Program for Adults

  • Students take  3–4 classes at a time
  • Classes meet Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
  • 2023-24 classes start dates: Aug. 15, Sept. 25, Nov. 6, Jan. 4, Feb. 20, April 8
  • Classes require at least 83% attendance

McLain’s Evening Diploma Program for Adults

  • Students take 2 classes at a time
  • Classes meet Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, 5:55 p.m.–8:30 p.m.
  • 2023-24 classes start dates: Aug. 14, Sept. 25, Nov. 6, Jan. 8, Feb. 20, April 8
  • Classes require at least 83% attendance

Enrollment Information

  • Fees (Financial Aid Available): Age 18–20: $80 per semester ; Ages 21+: $155 per semester

GED Program

McLain Community High School's GED learning community offers direct taught GED prep courses taught by experienced and credentialed teachers.

The purpose of this learning community is to provide students seeking their GED with the motivation and academic support needed to pass their GED in addition to making post GED plans. 

Program Description

  • Offers a variety of options for students who are 17+ and looking to complete their GED
  • Courses offered every 6 weeks
  • Our program is flexible. Students will be pre-tested for the Math and English portions of the GED to determine if a learning plan structured classes or a self-paced learning plan is best. All programs are seat-based and require your attendance.

Eligibility

  • Must be 17 years or older at the time of enrollment
  • Applicants must have withdrawn from their last school at least 30 days prior to enrollment

  • Bring a copy of GED scores if you have taken those tests.
  • Fees are charged: $80 for each Semester (Aug - Dec, or Jan - June).
