Baker Concrete Construction donated their time and resources to teach a week-long course, ROCK Week, at Warren Tech. Warren Tech Students from Building Trades Pre-Apprenticeship and STEM learned the entire process of concrete from bidding the project, safety, laying out the project, forming and pouring a sidewalk & pad for the new Warren Tech Outdoor Recreation Area.
Students received a hands-on, real-world experience that was taught by industry professionals. 100% of the time and resources that allow ROCK Week to happen was donated by
Baker Concrete Construction,
Martin Marietta, and
Brundage Bone. This is the second annual ROCK week at Warren Tech and this experience truly changes the students' lives. Students from ROCK Week were offered jobs and internships on the spot. This is an amazing example of bringing industry into the classroom! Thank you to all of the industry partners for your support!
